Lions Start Season Aug. 23

The De Anza College 2024 volleyball team will be tested early and often with a loaded schedule of state powers.

The Lions open the season at home (Aug. 23) against College of San Mateo, a program that reached the NorCal second round playoffs in 2023.

On the following day (Aug. 24) De Anza travels to Sacramento to face two teams from the 2023 Elite Eight: American River and state runner-up Feather River - the likely preseason No. 1 in the North.

Most of the pre-conference schedule features regional tri-matches, including visits to Cosumnes River, Modesto, Solano, Taft, Hartnell, and Sacramento City.

On Sept. 4, the Lions will host a tri-match with Contra Costa and Gavilan.

The Coast division schedule starts on Oct. 9 with a home match against Cabrillo.
