Tops In The North

Notes from Coach Mattis -

 

For the first time in school history, De Anza College captures a men's track and field NorCal championship!  

 

Day 1

Congratulations to our three NorCal Champions from Day 1.

Liam Brennan (discus), Kai Burich (hammer throw) and Joselin Joya Camacho with the huge upset to win the 10k. All three have qualified for the 3C2A championships.  

Also qualifying: Jeff O'Brien (discus), Amariah Davidson (long jump), Antoine Moret (10k), and Ningning O'Brien (discus and hammer throw).  

 

Day 2

Day 2 champions included Antoine Moret in the steeplechase, and Liam Brennan for his second individual championship for shot put.  

Other men's state qualifiers: Antonie Moret (5k), Daniel Chen (110HH), Sam Betz and Jeff O'Brien (javelin), and James Estrella (steeplechase).

The DA women finished third place overall. 

Women's state qualifiers were, Mia Tarkington (800), Jacky Velasquez (steeplechase), Amariah Davidson (400), and the 4x100 relay team of Felicity Alvarado, Amariah Davidson, Marissa Windham and K'Jada Cayetano.  

So far eight men and eight women qualified for state.
