Skip Yenchik is excited to join the De Anza Men’s Basketball staff, as we relaunch our program.

He brings a wealth of knowledge to the program from a 30-plus year basketball coaching career that includes various stops at both the high school and collegiate level.

Most recently, Yenchik has served most of the last 18 years as the varsity head coach at Independence High School where they built a reputable program known for being prepared, tough minded, and highly competitive on the Eastside of San Jose.

Yenchik has been a part of, and led, coaching staffs that have rebuilt and restored several programs that had fallen on tough times. The Lions hope to draw heavily on those experiences as they look to "Restore the Roar" in Mountain Lion territory.
