Bio

Jonathan Matsumura joined the De Anza College Athletics department in April of 2024 and he serves as the Academic Advisor for over 400 student athletes.

His primary duties consist of assisting students with the process of selecting classes, creating education plans, and establishing academic goals, along with providing students with information regarding on-campus resources, transfer requirements, CCCAA, NCAA, and NAIA requirements.

Prior to De Anza he spent the previous decade working at CSU Bakersfield, where he was the Associate Head Track and Field Coach. He has 20 years of track and field coaching experience, having coached at almost every level from high school, junior college, NCAA Division 1, 2, and 3.
