SAAC Elects 2025-26 Officers

Keeping with tradition, the De Anza College Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) completed its annual election process during the final official meeting of the academic year.

Yassin Bouali (swim & dive) was voted-in as president for 2025-26, and will be joined by vice president Sarah Morales (track & field), secretary Genesis Mailangi (track & field), and treasurer Adrienne Lee (badminton).

Commissioner positions will be filled later this summer. 

Bouali (Fremont HS), Morales (Pioneer HS) and Mailangi (East Palo Alto HS) all spent the 2024-25 year as SAAC representatives from their teams. Lee (Mills HS) recently served as SAAC's Commissioner of Student Services.

The newly executive officers will participate behind the scenes of next Thursday's 2025 Academic & Athletic Acihievement Awards ceremony - as they will host the event next year.

Thursday's awards night will feature co-emcees Anna Bhogra (SAAC president), Hamza Moharram (SAAC treasurer), Iris Li (SAAC Commissioner of Academics), and Vinny Nguyen (SAAC Commissioner of Events).
